Kansas Erosion, LLC. makes high quality straw erosion control products. Our blankets provide a stable environment for seed germination, seedling growth and vegetation establishment. The straw wattles reduce erosion, increase filtration, and retain soil for one to two years while permanent vegetation becomes established.
Central Kansas has the best straw in the country – And Plenty Of It! Our history in the straw marketplace combined with an entire manufacturing workforce dedicated to excellence and on- time product delivery makes us unique in the industry.
We recycle what is normally a drain on the environment into a useful, eco-friendly product. Burning crop residues such as wheat stubble has a negative impact on air quality, the productivity of soil resources, and water quality (e.g. from soil erosion). We remove high stubble loads from the fields thereby reducing the nitrogen immobilization and soil stratification.
Erosion Control Blankets are thick, fibrous blankets woven out of either natural materials (e.g. straw and coconut fiber), synthetic materials(e.g. polypropylene) or a mixture of natural and synthetic materials. These blankets are used primarily to slow water runoff, provide effective sediment and erosion control, and enhance re-vegetation.These blankets are commonly applied to channel and ditch linings, slopes, culvert inlets and outfalls, riverbanks, and levees. Erosion control blankets are classified as short term, long term, or permanent use, mostly based on whether vegetation is intended to replace or work in conjunction with the blankets.

One of the greatest environmental concerns we face these days is soil erosion. This is a widespread problem due to the rise of urbanization and a multitude of construction projects that are ongoing. When buildings are constructed, the land is ripped up and dug out, exposing the soil to possible erosion.
Sediments dug up during construction can find their way to the city's water system through storm sewers, storm grates and storm inlets. This includes large projects and small projects (like the new home being built on your block), alike.
Because of the potential danger to our environment, the government has required contractors to use a professional-grade inlet filter and to erect their own sediment control solutions and measures when starting any new project.
The Dandy Bag, Dandy Pop and Dandy Sack are three provensolutions from our inlet filter family- that help protect storm grates and storm drains from heavy,sediment-laden stormwater.
Dandy stormwater control, sediment control products and curb inlet protection filters are used to filter out light or thick sediment-ladenstormwater from sewer drains (with or without grates) and providesuperior inlet protection. They also provide excellent de-watering and oil skimmer solutions.
The Dandy Curb, Dandy Curb Sack and Dandy Curb Bag arethree reliable and durable curb inlet filters and gutter inlet filters thatwill help you divert all sediment from entering an inlet.

Articulating concrete revetment systems in conjunction with an underlying geotextile or filter will help retain and stabilize onsite soils from the destructive forces associated with storm events. By acting as ballast for the geotextile, it is important to choose the ideal shape and weight of the concrete units. Once the mattresses are in place, they provide the structural stability to prevent ongoing erosion or scour. Because of their articulating nature and the fact that the cables are cast directly into the concrete, the entire mattress will remain cohesive, while allowing for natural settlement over time.
